Throughout the year, the Department of Patient and Family Centered Care at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital helps to support patients and families as they cope with illness, injury, treatment, and hospitalization.
On December 11th and 12 of this year, John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital’s Department of Patient and Family Centered Care hosted their annual All Kids’ Wonderland — a free “shopping” event for inpatient parents/caregivers as well as families identified by the Social Work department who demonstrate a need to participate.
As the Department’s largest event, All Kids’ Wonderland is estimated to serve 250+ families. The Outpatient Care Center is transformed to become an environment where families can embrace normalcy and the joys of the holiday season without being far from their loved ones who are receiving care. In designated rooms, gifts are on display so that each family will have an opportunity to “shop” and pick up toys and gift wrap essentials.
The Reflection Sales Team is honored to have the opportunity to contribute to the gifts and toys donated to this year’s All Kid’s Wonderland event.
Reflection Sales Representative Michelle Menke Fife has been volunteering for John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital’s since 2017. “It has been near and dear to my heart since learning more about the organization through my family’s philanthropic involvement. I instantly knew that I wanted to be engaged and volunteer,” said Fife. “During my first year on the VIP Auction committee, one of my best friend’s daughter spent over 80 days in the NICU. The care she received at JHACH was top notch and is the reason why she is so beautiful and healthy. My passion grew stronger with this story, and next year I served as a Co-Chair for the same committee.”
All Kids’ Wonderland is intended to remove some additional stress from families who are already facing numerous challenges during this time of year. Perhaps more than ever, there’s a need for our patients and families to experience as much “normal” as possible as they celebrate their holiday traditions.
“It was extra special this year to help in a new event as part of the REFLECTION sales team with KW Developer Services, our developers and one of our lending partners,” recalls Menke Fife. “They share this same passion and were extremely eager to donate and help the patients and their families embrace normalcy and spread joy and smiles this holiday season. I am so grateful to work with such a generous team!”
Special thanks from HP Capital Group, KW Developer Services, Goodwin Mortgage Group and The Orns Solution for our donations this year.
